NDIR5 | CO & CO2 Analyser

The NDIR5 is our newest and most sensitive COx instrument, utilising a long path absorption cell design optimised to enable single digit ppm detection. Despite the substantial improvement in sensitivity, the NDIR5 still retains market leading response times and is suitable for applications where a T10-90% response time of approximately 100 milliseconds is sufficient.

Typical applications include process control, ambient air quality or carbon capture applications. Due to the compact nature of the design (listed below), reduced weight and carry handle, the NDIR5 is perfectly suited for portable use cases.

Key specifications:

Response Time (T90-10%): 100 milliseconds

Sensitivity: - <10ppm/RootHz for CO. <2ppm/RootHz for CO2

Zero Drift: <1% of Full Scale / Hour

Span Drift: <1% of Full Scale / Hour

Linearity: +- 3% of Full Scale

Max Sampling Pressure: 0.2 Bar(g)

Dimensions: W = 200mm, H = 200mm, D = 330mm

Power consumption: 120W (start-up), 100W (continuous)

Differences from other Cambustion COx Analysers

The design differs from the other Cambustion fast COx analysers in three significant ways:

  1. Unlike the NDIR500, it is a single channel analyser.

  2. Its detector is housed within a small control box with an unheated sample line delivering the gas from the sample point.

  3. It is not capable of sampling at varying sample pressures due to the removal of the constant pressure system present in the FID50 and HFR500

Typically, the sample line length is <1 metre.

Like our other fast NDIRs, the detection method is still using the reputable NDIR principle.
