Applications & Support Engineer

As the business area continues to expand, we seek an additional Applications & Support Engineer, to join our team supporting customers for our aerosol science instrumentation around the world.

This role supports long term expansion of our team, and therefore we also welcome applications from those who may not be ready to start a new role immediately (e.g. currently studying.)

Engaging closely with existing and prospective customers around the world (both in person and remotely), you'll develop a detailed understanding of their technical requirements, assisting them in establishing the suitability of Cambustion equipment and offer technical support through commissioning and beyond.

As your understanding of customer requirements and instruments operations/principles develops, you'll be involved in ongoing product development.

Working in a global SME, you'll have opportunities to rapidly gain skills and experience across a very broad range of areas (including business and product development) while maintaining appropriate focus on important details.

Key Responsibilities

  • Connect with customers, both remotely and in person at conferences and site visits around the world

  • Understand customer needs, from initial discussions, working with them via experimental design and through to evaluating customer generated data

  • Provide application technical support to customers

  • Identify opportunities for product improvement and new applications

You

  • Have a science or engineering background at degree level or equivalent

  • Are comfortable with both theoretical and hands on engineering & science

  • Enjoy learning new skills and self-developing your understanding in response to technical challenges

  • Have an appreciation for the commercial and technical aspects of business

  • Are driven to deliver good technical solutions and identify opportunities for improvement

  • Are confident being the face of a company, and an independent traveller

  • Have the right to live and work in the UK

Experience

This role involves both hands on work in the lab, and data analysis.

Experience in a range of areas including mechanical, electronics, software and data analysis will be appreciated. However, we primarily seek a candidate who (with team support) is interested and engaged to quickly learn new techniques and skills.

Salary + Benefits

The role is full time at 35 hours per week.
