Electrical / Electronic Technician

We have over 70 employees based in Cambridge, UK. Our Powertrain Engineering Services groups work on a consultancy basis for vehicle and component manufacturers.
We have comprehensive state-of-the-art powertrain and vehicle testing facilities.
We evaluate and develop powertrain control solutions for future vehicles.
Due to recent and planned future expansion, Our Powertrain Engineering Services Groups are now recruiting engineers and technicians to join the team. The Electrical / Electronic Technician role will involve providing support to our Engineering Services groups. The ideal candidate would be self-motivated and enthusiastic with qualifications and experience in either electronic systems or building electrics. There is scope to adjust the details of the role according to the applicant’s skills and experience.

Experienced electrical / electronic technicians with directly relevant experience.
Recently qualified electrical / electronic technicians with enthusiasm for the role.
The role is varied, based on the specific requirements of the test programme. Typical day-to-day activities could include:
Electrical & mechanical fabrication of specialist instrumentation.
Engine loom wiring.
Facility and building services design and installation.
Maintenance of test facility systems.
In addition, dependent on skills and experience, there is potential for this to be a senior role with additional responsibilities for wider responsibilities for management of facilities.
Some or all of the following skills/experience would be an advantage – but additional training can be provided.
Electrical / electronic design, testing and fabrication.
Vehicle 12V systems or communication networks diagnostics and repair.
PCB soldering / repair.
Use of machine & hand tools, ability to make professional quality panels and cases.
Computer literacy – particularly Microsoft Excel.
Experience with inverter drives or automotive test rigs.
Experience with automotive high-voltage electrics from battery electric vehicles.
Essential Attributes
Electrical / electronic qualification.
Care and attention to detail and enthusiasm for the role.
Must be eligible to work in the UK.
